Turn off “User Access Control (UAC)”
This much touted security feature blocks users of the computer against the registry, windows system files and a number of other critical areas of the operating system. While a very good security feature, it can hinder the operation of many applications, VIP included.
(Be sure before turning this off that you have a good anti virus system and firewall already installed. Otherwise with no UAC and anti virus, users can be more vulnerable to viruses, spyware etc.)
To turn this off, go to CONTROL PANEL, and then choose USER ACCOUNTS.

Click the link to “Turn User Account Control on or off”

In the next screen, un-check the tick beside “Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer”
Click OK and then answer YES to restart the computer.
Change the Windows Theme / Appearance back to “Classic” or “Standard”
Windows Vista’s appearance is one of its key features, and the “Aero” display with transparency and the Mac-like appearance is very nice.
Unfortunately, however, this interferes with a number of crucial functions within the VIP program and it is necessary to return the appearance to a more traditional Windows look.
To reset the appearance, go to CONTROL PANEL, and then choose PERSONALISATION.
In the menu which comes up, choose WINDOWS COLOR AND APPEARANCE

Choose “Windows Color and Appearance”

In the next screen, change the COLOR SCHEME from “Windows
This will take a moment and change the look and feel of Windows
Once both these steps are completed, VIP is fully compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista.
