This exciting million-dollar plus development was started over five years ago and is
now installed in an ophthalmology practice in Hamilton, New Zealand and another in Macquarie Street, Sydney. It is also undergoing trials for retinal diabetic screening at various district health boards in New Zealand.
A new development platform. Written in C# using .net technology and requiring a Microsoft SQL database; it may not be for everyone but for the larger multi-discipline clinic we believe it provides everything required.
Improved security. Notes can be kept confidential. Financial information can be shared or not just as the doctor wishes.
Unique groups. Where groups have their own unique rights. Orthopaedics, ophthalmology and dermatology sharing one database no problem! Each group can set up their own selection of Autotext, letter templates, user defined forms all the way to the design of a personalised medical desktop.
Communications. One common interface for all communications. We no longer call it
word-processing it is now so much more! Inward and outward correspondence, pathology, referrals and text messaging all accessed from one dashboard.
Financial Summary. Using the same common interface our financial reports have simple filter options to allow the user, with the click of a mouse to separate providers, revenue accounts, insurance companies and item fees. And with one more click, the entire report can be exported to Excel.
Report Writing. Using the power of Microsoft reporting services information can now be extracted on anything that has been recorded.
Appointments. Patients can now be triaged through rooms, from the nurse, to fields, to images and at any time to the doctor. There is also a powerful waiting list where patients can be ranked in order of priority and from where are they can be booked directly into the monthly planner.

In the modern age of the Internet communication is no longer limited to letter writing. Pathology, radiology and referrals can now be received down the wire ready for instant access from anywhere. One of our doctors complained that in the existing VIP 2000 he had to go to 3 different screens to see inward referrals, pathology results and outward correspondence.
We listened! And the communication dashboard you see above is the result. By selecting various checkboxes and radio buttons on the right‐hand side your communications with external providers and patients change in front of your eyes. No more getting lost down a long menu path and ending up in the wrong place. One keystroke gets you there and the filters instantly change the display as required.
