Patient Demographics
The initial patient registration screen. While the patient CSC card details are specific for NZ I am sure these could be tailored to suit.
As you will see on the right, a limitless number of providers can be associated with each patient. The “small house” means, “in the practice”, the globe means a consultant outside the practice and the hand means the person who did the referral in the first place.
Financial Management
VIP includes a very sophisticated billing setup area, which allows almost any combination of billing requirements to be handled. It covers subsidised billing, private billing, contracts, and redirected billings.
Almost any patient based entity in the system can be set-up as a billing trigger. And since VIP2000 allows you to add an unlimited number of your own customised fields, which also become available, the possibilities are endless.
Detailed financial histories for each patient can be displayed as required. The use of colour throughout the VIP2000 program enhances not only the look and feel, but provides significant indicators, such as outstanding accounts.
Payments are simply a matter of tagging the transactions you wish to pay, and pressing one key. You can filter this screen such that it only shows transactions billed to a particular provider, revenue account, or subsidiser.
Writing Letters and Word Processing
The Houston Letter writer is a very powerful word processor. With full support for imaging, tables, spellcheck and a complete WYSIWYG (What you see on the screen is what you get on the printout) system. Add your own medical dictionaries to the spellcheck, create templates which will pick up information directly from the program, such as patient’s name and address, medical information, financial or more. Any letters created in the Houston Word processor are automatically saved to the patient file for retrieving, reviewing and reprinting at any time. The VIP letter writer looks and feels similar to Word, except it is entirely contained within the Houston Package.
Reporting
The VIP report writer allows you to create customised reports to suit your requirement. You can choose from any entity in the system, and set almost any combination of selection criteria. Once the report has been defined, you can adjust column widths as desired, and preview before printing. Some of the more advanced features include sorting, grouping, sub-totalling and cross-tabulation.
The Appointment Book
Allows a large number of different time slots and different appointment types within any day, any shift, for any provider and allows direct access to all areas of the program without ever having to close it. One keystroke will take you anywhere. On any screen you will be able to see all the providers in the clinic, you can visualise their schedule for the day or their schedule for the entire week. Year planners and monthly overview’s make management of multiple doctors and health providers very easy. Concurrent multiple open books for easy access and easy input makes our appointment register unique and is virtually a complete view of the whole practice at a glance.
Clinical Management
Clinical management in VIP General Practice is powerful and functional. Drag and drop, clinical reporting, notes and coding is all part of the VIP Allied clinical management. Link notes directly to letters to referring providers or patients.
Prescribing
The prescribing module allows recording of every prescription written for each patient, and records regular medications separately. A rich set of provider set-up options allow the way prescriptions are handled to be customised to suit each prescriber.
On screen display of Allergies and Problems, which remain visible in every prescribing screen.
Drug names, formulations, packsizes and number of repeats can all be customised in the Medications setup area. This means in most cases the only field that has to be entered after choosing the medication is the dosage, and if you read the note below, often that is entered automatically also.
Prescription detail includes fully customised dose pop-ups, which allow an unlimited number of short codes to be added to the system to speed up prescribing. Dosage instructions are stored on a per drug/formulation basis, for each provider and sorted by popularity. In this way each provider’s prescribing habits and preferences are learnt as he/she prescribes.
For Example: You may prescribe Amoxil Tablets 300mg , and enter a dose of “Take one tablet 3 times a day after meals”. The next time you prescribe Amoxil 300mg, this dose will automatically appear (you can change it of course).
ACC & Private Claiming and Management
Entering claims is simple and straightforward. The program will alert the user if any mandatory entries have been missed, or is the claim number is not of the correct format. Full READ diagnosis and printing of claims is easy.
M45 management interacts directly with the ACC website, keeping track of the claims which are tagged, sent and, whether they have been accepted and acknowledged by ACC.
Digital Imaging
The imaging module integrates directly with the Medical desktop, with a “filmstrip” along one side showing the doctor a selection of images. These can be viewed single, or multiple at a time.
Machine Interfaces
VIP Integrates with a large number of popular machines, including ECG Machines, Ultrasounds and any imaging devices, such as Digital Cameras and Scanners.
Our imaging system lets you import images from any Twain32 complaint hardware (eg Scanners, Digital Cameras) etc. Greyscale, Zoom, and Negative functions are included.
Memotxt
Memotxt is an add-on for VIP which allows you to send text messages to your patients/clients via your keyboard.
