Houston Medical is pleased to confirm the release of the new SMS integration package for VIP, Memotxt. Memotxt is an integrated add-on for VIP that allows you to send SMS text messages to your patients, or anyone with a mobile phone directly from the appointment book or report writer, using one-off custom messages and even autotext macros (for grabbing database fields) to send short messages to your patients! How good is that!

Any workstation that you wish to send SMS messages from must be able to connect to the internet. This may be via a fast connection (recommended), such as ADSL, Frame Relay or Jetstream, or via a standard modem dial-up connection.

Coverage
Memotxt covers all networks in New Zealand and Australia, and almost all GSM networks elsewhere in the world.

Features
As well as simple sending of SMS messages, Memotxt also offers 'reply to email' capability, a delayed send function and a personalized sender ID.

Reply to Email
With this function enabled, all messages sent can be replied to by the recipient. When a reply is received by the Memotxt server, it is converted to an email and sent to the email address you have configured in the system (see Installation and Setup).

Delayed Send
When sending a message, or a group of messages you can nominate the time the message(s) should be sent. They will be sent to the Memotxt messaging gateway immediately, but will be stored there until the time you nominated has arrived at which time the message will be sent to the recipients' mobile.

Sender ID
When messages are sent to a mobile phone, usually the ID that comes up on the phone is the Mobile Phone number that sent the message. Memotxt can replace this ID with an ID you nominate in the setup. Note that this feature only applies to GSM networks (Vodafone etc), and does not apply to messages sent with reply capability.

Message Tariffs
Text Messages to Australian Networks cost 30c per message, Note there are no additional charges for Sender ID, or Delayed send features, however messages with a reply received cost 30c per message.
