Lisa Hansen has been running a physiotherapy practice for a number of years with Houston Medical's Allied Health Package.
Starting off as a single user system with the basic package, and an ancient computer, both the level of electronic integration and the practice has grown.
Situation:
As of the beginning of 2007, the clinic had 2 reception PC's and an older machine in an office for occasional admin tasks. Staff needs for computer access were growing, and there was an additional requirement for remote access from offsite-clinics that we running services, as well as after-hours access for some staff-members. As the database had grown very rapidly, speed issues across the network were a problem as well.
Proposal:
Install Windows 2003 Terminal Server system
Remote access via secure system.
Replace existing networking infractstucture with a gigbit system
"Roaming" laptop via wireless connection
Expand the VIP software licenses and infrastructure to cope with the demand
Solution:
The server system was installed one morning with a minimum of fuss. The Houston Hardware division set the system completely up in place prior to installation, so it was hassle free.
Practicioners can now enjoy access to the patient details, clinical records, and ACC management from anywhere, including Offsite Clinics, home PC's, or wirelessly within the building.
In the VIP system, additional appoinment pages, user-defined screens and reports were built by Houston. Practice admins are able to generate financial, ACC and clinical reports and drill down to any level. The patient flow is smoother, and the practice is busier than ever.
